Would a '71 Chevelle be good for a first car?

I'm one of those people who if I was offered to race, I would rev like crazy and when the light goes green I'll go speed limit. In other words I am a responsible person and that's my way of saying it. LOLZ
 
Beautiful car but they are V8's and eat up alot of pertol, so probably not a very good idea for a first car. They are also very expensive, so unless you're loaded i would go for something a little different ^_^
