Since this is my first car I don't want to put a bunch of money into a new car and I don't want to finance because when I go back to school ill only be working part time an don't wana have to struggle making payments.im trying to find a decent vehicle around $3000 or less if I can but im also scared of buying too cheap because I want sumthing reliable that will last me another 2 yrs or more..so if this toyota rav4 turns out to be in good condition wuld it b a good investment? Or should I keep looking? I want sumthing cute an reliable but im just so skeptical.. Anybody own a 96 toyota rav4?? I've read on edmunds that they r real good on gas an last a long time...

Simply, hell no.

I've seen 96 corvettes with 46k miles locally for the same price as that beater ($4000), I wouldn't go near it with a ten foot stick.
