Worst voice in rock music?

Ah yeah David Byrne.

Though I don't think that's always the case. Some of my favorite singers are of the very technical variety, but some of them aren't.

Personally I don't care about the lyrical content in music at all really, it's all about the vocal delivery for me.

The lead singer of Billy Talent has a terrible voice.

Even though I like Bob Dylan and I'll probably get crap for saying this... He has a bad voice too. Although it gets catchy and he is a great musician anyways.

I love Eddie Vedder's vocals.

When I hear PJ on the radio I like to imitate Eddie's vocals and facial expressions, I love the horrified reactions people have.

Probably Mudvayne's singer. Whenever I hear a song from them I think of how lucky the deaf really are.

(Wouldn't this thread be better suited to be in the main rock and metal section instead of the classic/rock n roll board?)

Agreed, Lynne is a pretty damn good musician. I mean he was in The Traveling Wilburys along with some of the best artists in rock music in the last 50 years. Not that their music is particularly good, but they fact that those guys had enough respect for him to have him join the graces of musicians like Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and George Harrison is pretty damn impressive.

I have to go with Bob Seger as the worst. Absolutely intolerable.

Psh, you only mentioned Isaac Brock to get under my skin, didn't ya?! =P I second your bit on Mr. Claypool and Biafra.

I can't really think of a vocalist that gets on my nerves at the moment. Isis' vocals used to ruin their albums for me. It wasn't until Wavering Radiant that I started to appreciate it. OH, and fuckin' James LaBrie just neeRAB to stop. I can't stand his voice. In my opinion, he ruins the whole band.

Now this one I can back 100%, I f*cking hate that guy.

He's not bad technically I guess but he pretty much has the most boring voice ever.

Turn the Page is decent, but the Metallica version is a billion times better so f*ck it, there is absolutely no reason to listen to this guy, ever.
