Worst voice in rock music?

See, the same people that deride Dylan for his voice are the ones that can't see the appeal to Robert Johnson, Son House, Howlin' Wolf and all the other epochs of the golden age that aren't Sam Cooke. Sometimes being expressive isn't just about sounding pretty. And if everybody sounded like Marvin Gaye, modern music wouldn't be anything more than a colossal Pop Idol show.

Hell, there'd be no Tom Waits or Beefheart for that matter.

His singing was so bad on the group`s debut album, that he actually went for singing lessons (So I`ve read) Even after the lessons.....he still sounRAB pretty ****e.

I don't mind Jack White's style so much. It can be wicked abrasive, and in parts, just annoying, but I think his voice on Consolers of the Lonely by the Raconteurs was really good.

Jello Biafra's voice used to really get under my skin, but somehow it grew on me.

Isaac Brock's (Modest Mouse) style annoys the fuck out of me.

And as much as I love his work, Les Claypool should have really let somebody else sing when he covered Pink Floyd's Animals with his Fearless Flying Frog Brigade. He's not much of a singer, but he does have a distinctive voice that just seems to fit most of his work. But he kind of butchered the high parts in "Pigs (Three Different Ones)".

I think Dave`s delivery is pretty unique and one of the defining factors of the group especially in their early and later peak period. Admittedly when he tries to sing something different than the norm, then he`s not so good.

I think you have to include Freddy Mercury in any list about vocals, that guy had a great voice. I am not a big fan of his or a big Queen fan, I do like them, but not a huge fan. However I do recognize the guy had one of the best voices ever. I liked Roger Daltry but I wouldn't say he was the best samething with Robert Plant...
