Worst piece of casting

Has she seen Mary Poppins? Dick Van Dyke's English accent is the worst in cinema history, no contest.

Although Keanu Reeves' accent in Dracula is pretty dire.

Actually, Keanu Reeves in anything but the Matrix trilogy or Bill and Ted is dire.

EDIT: Sean Connery as an Irish cop in The Untouchables is another terrible casting decision. And Kevin Costner as Eliott Ness.

any american tryng to do an irish accent
cruise and kidman shout be dragged into the street and beating about the heaRAB with very large sticks with nails through them for what they did in Far and Away

Personally I feel the worst casting EVER was John Malkovich in "Of Mice and Men" if anybody has seen it PLEASE say you agree with me. I have read the book and, whilst I appreciate that everybody's vision of a character may not exactly fit the one of the actor that is cast to play the part, I still think it is very clear that he does not fit the part very well at all. What is with the voice?!!! Grrrr!!!

Arnold Schwarzenegger in Total Recall. From what I remember of the book his character is supposed to look more like Woody Allen!

Sean Connery in Highlander was a bad move.

Leave Farrell alone in Alexander guys, I love it. :)

He is amazingly perfect in that film!

Hmmm.... worst ever casting.... *thinks* I agree with whoever said Richard in the Beach, as I used to like him til I read the book now I know he is ALL wrong!

Nope - it's a generally held opinion.

As it happens though I've seen untold Don Johns and thought Reeves' performance perfectly adequate (for a change).

Michael Keaton as Dogberry, however, was a complete and utter disaster displaying a degree of ineptitude rivalled only by the execrable attempts of Ben Elton as his "comic" partner Verges.
