I love watching musicals, but some I just don't get.

West Side Story - why do people love this film? I have tried to watch it many times and just can't get into it.Its slow and dull and boring. I can't believe it had the same director as The Sound of Music which is just magic to watch.

Annie- Sickly rubbish for stage school brats

Moulin Rouge - Just didn't enjoy it.

GRRR! I'm gonna get you for that Jacky:mad:

RHPS and Grease are FAB movies:cool:

I also LOVE west side story, The sound of music......the list goes on.

RHPS is my favourite though.

Hiya Jack BTW (was just kidding about getting you...or maybe not;) )

*wanders off singing (in a cokernee sparra stylee) All I want is a room samwhere.....faar awaay from the cawld noight air*:D :D

grease, footloose, dirty dancing(does that count-it's still s***)-any american plastic rock'n'roll with horrid broadway interpretations of the blues.and don't get me started on the old stuff like wizard of oz and south pacific.

:D Of course I knew it was you!
Who else would it be saying AWFUL things about Rocky? :p
Anyway I lurked over on PU for ten mins earlier and read some old posts and saw that you had joined LOL:D

I love footloose, wizard of oz..In fact I can't think of a musical I don't like.....OOh hang on a min...Grease2, now that WAS crap!

Most of them, to be quite honest. I find that musicals tend to work much better on stage than they do on screen. It is literally the difference between being sung to and listening to a recording. Honourable exceptions for 'Paint Your Wagon', Chicago' and 'Cabaret' - three occasions where the transfer to film worked a treat.

i agree about "Taboo" it's great.

I love musicals but one i really didnt like was "gypsy"-it felt about 10 hours long-i liked natalie wood but hated the songs and the mother

i love musical, love goin to see them
