Worst mother in animation... no poll.

I know a few horrible worst mothers in animation,

Lady Tremain the Wicked Stepmother(Cinderella) - She was the greatest/nastiest of all terrible stepmothers in animation for her horrible/abusive actions on poor Cinderella.

Demona(Gargoyles) - My favorite hot villainess who was the most horrible mother ever who's very manipulative for her poor daughter Angela along with wanting to destroy her as well along with everyone on Earth, yikes!!!!!

Mindy's mother(Animaniacs/Mindy & Buttons) - She's quite the bad worst mother for letting poor Mindy run off by myself with Buttons risking his life to face all obstacles to save her & yells at the poor dog for no reason which made me hate her!!!!!

Sharon Marsh/Sheila Broflovski/Liane Cartman/Linda Stotch(South Park) - All of them were pretty lousy terrible mothers like Sharon having a nasty bully for a daughter like Shelly, Sheila banning Terrence & Phillip, Liane turning her son Eric into a bratty, spoiled, racist, sociopathic jerkoff, & Linda being horrible/abusive and wanting to kill poor Butters.

Mrs. Turner/Cosmo's mother(Fairly Oddparents) - They were pretty bad worst mothers with Timmy's mother leaving her poor son to the nasty babysitter Vicky & Cosmo's mother is pretty bad as well.

Lois Griffin/Loretta(Family Guy) - They were bad terrible mothers with Lois treating Meg/Brian like garbage & Loretta being a bad awful wife for cheating on poor Cleveland before her well-satisfying death, poor Cleveland Jr. though.

Mom(Futurama) - The most evil awesome/hardcore/abusive corporate mother in animation voiced by the awesome Tress MacNeille!!!!!

The Other Mother(Coraline) - Yikes, she was quite the evil scary/psychotic mother for her nasty actions on poor Coraline, but she was the greatest/evilest stop-motion movie villainess ever!!!!!

Mrs. Doofenshmirtz(Phineas & Ferb) - She's the greatest terrible/awful mother on her poor loser son Heinz in poor Heinz's sad backstory flashbacks.

Lady Nickelbottoms(The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack) - She was quite the bad terrible mother to his poor son, Lolly Poopdeck which still shocked me that Lolly is her son.

Elizabeth Blake/Angela Dinkley/Mrs. Samuel Chastain "Mom" Rogers(Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated) - All of them were pretty terrible/awful mothers for the poor Mysteries Incorporated Gang and yet they are pretty hot.

Rosie(Ugly Americans) - Callie's sweet/innocent mother turned terrible mother on replacing her succubus daughter Callie with her evil scary psychopathic demonic sister Lilith.

Chi-Chi(Dragonball/Z/Kai) - Annoying witchy mother with emotional disapproval & doesn't want her poor sons Gohan/Goten engage in a huge major battle to save the world. Her comeuppance from Super Majin Buu by becoming a squashed egg was still awesome!!!!

Mrs. Okudaira(Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal) - Fuya's terrible/abusive hot mother who's definetly the nasty Galaxy Queen alright which it's nice that she redeemed herself at the end.

Mrs. Wuwen/Michelle/Yuko(Kodocha) - They were quite the nastiest terrible/abusive mothers on poor Jane/Naozumi/Sicil and yet they are so sexy, but I'm happy Michelle redeemed herself, but Yuko's just desserts was awesome since she was the most horrible/scummiest of the bad mothers of anime!!!!!

Mrs. Won(Descendents of Darkness) - She was a bad terrible mother for poor Maria, but I'm glad she got her just desserts at the end.

Sabo's evil noble mother(One Piece) - WOOOOW, she was such a horrible disgusting mother for poor Sabo which made me hate her & his entire nasty noble family:mad:.

Mrs. Belmont(Zatch Bell!) - Ugh, she was such a scummy/horrible abusive mother for poor Sherry in her sad flashback episode.

Miyuki Goto(Noein) - While seeing this interesting anime on Syfy's Ani-Monday, she was quite the bad terrible abusive mother for poor Yu, but further on before the season finale, it was nice that she changed which made me loved her character.

Marianne/Kallen's nasty stepmother(Code Geass:Lelouch of the Rebellion) - They were really evil/terrible mothers which Marianne's true evil ruthless nature totally shocked me for her evil actions:eek:, & Kallen's evil blonde stepmother may be rotten, but she's pretty hot, but I'm disappointed that her comeuppance was shown off screen though.

Queen Chagot(Fairy Tail) - Charle/Carla's nasty terrible/cruel mother who's the Queen of the Exceeds, a much bigger jerk than her daughter Charle/Carla and is my favorite nasty cat villainess EVER!!!!!!

Anna/Martin's alcoholic mother(Monster) - They were the next greatest terrible/awful mothers for poor Johan/Martin, but at least Johan's evil mother changed in the season finale which was great.

Until about the hour mark, I'd say that Gru's mother (Despicable Me) would fit the bill.

"They've already sent enough monkeys into space!", indeed.

C'mon guys, Peggy Hill? We've got a bar that goes to infanticide and physical and emotional torture here. Peggy Hill may do annoying things but she actually loves Bobby and tries to be a good mother. She really doesn't belong on the same list as most of these. Neither does Marge Simpson. preemptively.

I'll get funny looks for saying such an obscure source, but... Edna Maverick of Surf's Up is by far the worst of the biological mothers ever in an animated film. She's a good fit with all the evil stepmoms.

She's the single mother of Glen and Cody Maverick - the latter of whom is the main character.

Sure, she doesn't show up much in the movie, but she pissed me off so much! She always praising the older son Glen, who is huge jerk to Cody, the main character. All Glen does is sit on the other penguins' eggs. That's about it.
Meanwhile, Cody works his tail off trying to achieve his dream of winning the Big Z Memorial Surf-Off, and his mother always puts him down no matter what. She didn't even come to watch his audition.

And the best part? When Cody

wins second place in the contest

all of a sudden she's sticking up for him and says Glen should be more like him and that winning isn;t everything. When she was basically the opposite opinion before that. It basically tells you, "Hey kids! Even if you work like crazy to achieve your dreams, your parents won't care unless you actually get recognition."

I still do enjoy the movie otherwise.

I'm mix feelings on lois griffen she still cares about meg chris and stewie
but she started getting distant from meg in the peters daughter episode
where meg get pregant and decides to keep the baby instead of getting abortion
judgeing from the banned abortion episode this season lois did it with no second thougts or regret

Going along similar lines to the "worst father" list (not counting stepmothers---different fiction cliche):

- Timmy Turner's Mom; Vicky's Mom (Fairly Oddparents): An idiot (though slightly less of one than her hubby) that'd sooner be doing anything else but raising her only son. Vicky's Mom (least as shown in latter episodes, ignoring several earlier ones where she's inferred to but unseen) is also on the list... she (and her hsuband)'s afraid of some annoying scrawny teenager to the point of a bad Wade Duck imitation (and don't just take away her allowance and watch her fold like a deck of cards, or something)? Ugh... a series low point...

- Cartman's Mom, Butters' Mom, Stan's Mom: Cartman's allowed to, well, run amok; Butters, as others have noted, has had all sorts of abuse; Stan's mother is on the list for (mis)raising their abusive thug of a daughter, Shelly.

Fullmetal Alchemist Anime1 is no less cruel to motherhood.
Sloth tries to kill her sons.
Dante nurtures her Homunculus son into a monster.
Izumi abandons & tries to kill her Homunculus son.
I don't see DB/Z/Kai Chichi belonging here. For all her emotional disapproval, she loves her sons, has given them a stable life, and wants what's best for them (C'mon, do you want to see your kid engage in a violent, possibly fatal battle?).

I agree with you about Lois, but Loretta? I know FG fans hate her for cheating on Cleveland and being thoroughly unapologetic about it afterward, but Loretta's cheating on her husband only makes her a bad wife, not a bad mother. We don't know enough about how she treated Cleveland Jr. to determine how good or bad a mother that she was to him.

Butters' mom has got to be the worst. I mean, come on, do you remember that episode?

Lois Griffin was a good mother when Family Guy first started, she just wanted the best for her family, but ever since Family Guy's revival she seems like she couldn't care less about them--especially Meg, who she was always the first to stand up for in the earlier seasons.

Liane Cartman is a bad mother when it comes to proper discipline (though she did hire the Dog Whisperer to put Eric in his place) but she certainly still loves her son.

Chi-Chi's biggest problem is that she's too protective, but that doesn't even make her close to a poor mother.

Some people think that if a parent has a moral issue to begin with, it makes them a poor parent. Take David Xanatos for instance. People see him as a bad father because he's tricked the Gargoyles into theft and turned some people into mutates, but they overlook the fact that he's done nothing negative towards his son.

The thing is that while being bullied and abused is bad all around, it's even worse when a friend or family member does it.

I am racking my brain to, and Demona probably on the to ten of this list. Loving her daughter is probably the only redeeming quality Demona has at the end of the series.

But Mom from Futurama is probably the worst mother in the history of fiction. That woman is evil to the core and is abusive even to her kids.

There are actually far more examples of bad or irresponsible parents than good ones. I think it's because they make more entertaining TV, although you can still be interesting and a good parent in some of the special cases.

Right. Butters' mom -killed him- as far as she knew. He only survived by dumb luck. She tried to kill him for her own selfish emotional reasons, thought she succeeded, and then her husband helped her to cover it up.

What makes it worse than the other fantasy mothers on here is that kind of thing is chillingly realistic and happens all the time. That episode is directly modeled on the Susan Smith case.

How is it Sharon's fault that her daughter bullies her son? It's not like she encourages Shelly to behave that way. her only crime is being oblivious.

Really? Come on. Being overprotective doesn't make someone a bad mother.

Wouldn't you want your child to get a good education so they could be successful in life, and wouldn't you do all you could to make sure they didn't get killed in a fight to the death with some otherworldly evil?

And let's be honest, Goku was more the neglectful parent in that family. He left Chi-chi with two children to raise, while he went on adventures. He didn't have a job and mostly didn't provide for his family.

I don't want to even think how Chi-Chi held it all together.

Chi-Chi was a loving mother that didn't want to have her foolish husband get her kids killed.

And it would be better if Chi-Chi would just let Gohan slack off and allow him to throw his life away by going off to fight some evil alien entity who would more than likely have killed him? Interesting...

Chi-Chi may be annoying and obsessive, but she's only that way because she cares so much for her family and doesn't want to see them get hurt or killed. That's a good mom in my book.

Yeah, I can see where Chi-Chi is coming from. They are her kids after all. Sometimes she got overly protective, but within the context of the show, they could be fairly normal reactions. At least she just didn't let her kids to "whatevah" like Goku.

As for bad mothers, Lois is definitely on the list. I just don't see how any respectable mother could degrade her daughter and act so unsympathetic, especially when Meg really has done nothing wrong. Loretta is a bad mother in a way. She cheated on Cleveland, but obviously these sorts of things can have side-effects on kids. A nice, clean divorce would have been less harmful, but her decision kept that from happening. She made a selfish decision without thinking of him. Butters' mother is insane and tried to kill him, so that constitutes a spot. Cartman's mom...Well, she obviously loves her child, but is unable to truly handle him or stick him in therapy. She is one of the reasons he is so spoiled and messed up. Sharon Marsh may or may be a bad parent, though I personally think Shelley just "turned out that way" or was influence by those around her, rather than Sharon being an out-and-out bad parent. There's also the possibility that much of Shelley's bad behavior is only witnessed when Stan is taking the brunt of it; though she might take it too far sometimes, sibling rivalry isn't uncommon.

There are also plenty of step-mothers, though it can be difficult to use them. Either a creator will make them into a perfectly normal parent, per what often happens in the real world, or they will be purposefully evil, cruel, and abusive. I really don't see many step-mothers who are simply bad parents.
