Worst Films Ever - And i mean EVER!!!

went to see an awful film called Unforgettable a few years ago, starring Linda Fiorentino. I went with my best mate who, when i mentioned it a few months later, had forgotten we'd seen it! Truly awful

For a couple of years in the late 90s I had the pleasure of being sent to review the movies none of my editors wanted to see. Some of the dross I had to sit through informs my nightmares to this day. Highlights:

Down To You
Julia Stiles, who should know better, and Freddie Prinze Jr, who... never mind, in the worst college-kiRAB rom"com" in recent memory.

The Next Best Thing
Madonna/Rupert Everett vanity project. Madonna had enormous control over script and direction, hence endless scenes in which she performs extremely difficult and pointless yoga moves, plus the one where she stanRAB in front of a mirror wearing her undies and her ex husband drools about how he can't live without her "amazing bahdy". Utter toss.

But the prize goes to...

Brothers
A bunch of struggling actors play a bunch of witless Brit boys who go on holiday in Greece and shag women. That in itself is not a criticism: I love a good lad flick like Road Trip. But Brothers is probably the worst film I have ever seen, and it's an insult to struggling filmmakers everywhere that this pile of bowlocks ever got made. Just bought "Versus" after a recommendation from a friend.

I switched it off 10 minutes into it, astonished at the increadibly BAD acting.

Above mentioned friend soon to receive a big slap!

BMX Bandits getting a mention is better than the movie - I saw it in the cinema - absolutely shocking even as a kid.

Jurassic Park 2 - shocking

My Little Eye - evil Big Brother

Showgirls - has anyone ever seen this thru to the end????

lol i believe one of those bad one liners is

"ive come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass...and im all out of chewing gum" lol who came up with that???

Oh yes I have seen it - and I'd forgotten about it. Stinks with a very capital S.

Quite a lot of the films where "pop stars" star are pretty awful - also avoid "Mrs Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter" with Hermans Hermits another real stinker.

Though I really like Head (The Monkees) very sureal but often slagged big time.

I couldn't agree more with you.
I had the misfortune to have unwittingly recorded Down to you on my Pace PVR when it came on CH 4 this year. |After watching it, I found great pleasue in pressing the delete button. :D

Dreamcatcher was truly awful. I love the book, but as for the movie - what on earth was that ending about!?

The other worst movie I've seen, I can't even remember it's name. Must have been about 6 or 7 years ago, though.

Blonde, female hitchhiker, I think she might have been an ex-cop, just out of prison, realises that the nice people who picked her up plan to rob and blow up the gas station in the middle of nowhere. She escapes, finRAB this secret research facility under a mountain where they're researching time travel, and she and the young scientist guy have about 3 or 4 attempts to set everything right, thanks to his time travel machine.

Ring any bells?

And yes, it was actually WORSE than is sounRAB!

Actually, it's coming out in the UK in December. I really liked it, personally, but it's very quirky and won't be everyone's cup of tea.

BTW, can't help noticing that the vast majority of the movies mentioned on here seem to come from the past couple of decades. Did nobody make bad films before 1980? Or is everybody posting to this forum far too young to remember any of them? :D

tough question.

if i was to answer this question after my very first viewing of Lost In Translation i would have said that, but now i like it.

But here are some of my choices:
Unbreakable
The Excorcist Sequels
All Harry Potter Movies
xxx

there are more but i will keep it short

Harry Potter movies are great!

Maybe not to everyone's taste, but it can't be called a bad film as so many people liked it/them.

For a film to be called "BAD" it has to be universally thought to be aweful, i.e. Gigli
