Worst Film You've Ever Sat through....

My worst ever has to be that 3 Hr turkey' Magnolia'.never have I wanted to take a chainsaw to a cinema screen.
Of late I would have to say 'Breaking & Entering'..yes this film was a crime...5 years without no parole for all involved.

I understand what you're saying and I think in some cases you may be right, but it's not as simple as people not applying enough rigorous critical and objective thinking.

Maybe some people hadn't honed their critical faculties until now and were much more easy going when they were younger? Maybe they don't retain the memory of films they didn't enjoy? Maybe some films are in the "so bad it's good" category for them?

Maybe if they got bored witless and couldn't bear to finish watching it they conclude that it must be a badly made film cos a film's whole objective is to entertain - and it failed. (Epically in the case of my bete noire MSEG! :D)

But a lot of people may not have seen films that you think are "worse" than their choice.

I try to be objective too - but I know it's impossible. I hate the Star Wars films with every fibre of my being but I haven't put them on this list.

Worst film I ever sat through was Evan Almighty, was the most boring and pointless film I've seen in my entire life! They should have made it more like Bruce Almighty; where the guy gets the power of God.

I can't believe that this thread has gotten this far and nobody (as far as I can see) has mentioned the big mother of all the worst movies:-

PEARL HARBOUR

To my dying day I will always regret those lost three hours of my life and wonder just what I could have been doing that would have been less painful.
Shaving my scrotum with a blunt rusty razor, listening to the cheeky girls' greatest hits, committing suicide with death by a thousand paper cuts.
Of course after watching that sh*te I felt like doing all three.
The number of the samaritans really should have been on screen in that movie all the way through.

:p

Armageddon has to be one of the worst films ever made, surely. Terrible script, terrible acting, very cheesy overall. It just seemed like an excuse to shove a load of special effects into three hours of film, with plot/characters going out of the window.

I can't stand Grease either, and I don't see why it's got so much of a following. The Princess Diaries 2 was also terrible, but tbh I wasn't expecting much from that :D I only sat through it because the six-year-old I was looking after at the time was crazy about it.

I was really disappointed by this one and was reminded why I generally give anything with Jim Carrey in it a VERY wide berth.

The only things I've ever found him tolerable in are Batman Forever and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. If he did more films like Eternal Sunshine, where he proved he could be a very good actor, I'd be okay with him.

Haha, great thread guys! TYhough i think we should all take a long hard look at ourselves and ask - why on earth did we go see these sort of films in the first instance! Anyway, mine:

Dungeons and Dragons
Taxi (2004)
Elf

I actually liked Return to Me. Now for a film that was so awful I gave the DVD away try 'Last Line of Defence' A film so bad they seem to have changed the name of it!

There was some cheap ripoff of Universal Soldier which managed to be pretty awful as well.

To be honest I try and watch movies through hoping they will have some redeeming qualities so I have rarely if ever actually walked out of a film - just seen some so bad I have wanted to ask for my two hours back!

Be Kind rewind i thought was the most pointless mess I've ever seen. Of course a video store should close down it's the 21st century!!!!

Hannah;43615790']Avatar. I was ready to leave half way through because I was so damn bored, my friend convinced me to stay because we'd already paid loaRAB for the tickets, popcorn and drinks. The film really wasn't good. I didn't see it in 3d though so maybe that's why I didn't enjoy it. It had a really basic plot I really can't understand why everybody seems to love it. I'll go as far to say that I'd never been so bored in my life as I was watching that. I wouldn't even pay 1p to watch it again. Worst film ever.

one person earlier asked if anyone had ever sat through 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Trying?
I am that person, watched it all. Utter tripe but I did it.
To this day I am still scarred by it.
Aside from that I also found The Relic a load of jipe as well.
Oh, and something with Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin in...The Edge it was called...
Ah yes, Creep was another 85 mins I'll never get back too...
