Worst Bond Moment ?

Agreed.
The tennis jokes were not the only ones that I knew would be out of date quite quickly when I first saw the film.

Octopussy has several aswell as lines of dialogue there for a laugh but that we knew they would never say.

While in the balloon Bond asks Q if he knows how it works:confused:

Q: It goes by hot air
Bond: Oh , then you do.

Moonraker has the river chase in the speedboats in which Bond goes to an awful lot of trouble to put those in pursuit out of action , using all the gadgets in his souped up speedboat and even lets it go over the edge and crash while he takes off with a hang glider .

After surviving the landing he spots a girl and simply follows her into the villains lair so he can get caught:confused:

The Moore films all have similar silly sequences .

Octopussy where one of the villains has this weapon that is like a giant Yo-yo with blades that only works from above. Pathetic.

ReminRAB me of the Daleks and the fact they can't go up stairs.

Dr No:

how can anyone confuse a fire breathing dragon with a huge, noisy metal tank with flamethrower attachment.

Die Another Day:

repeated jokes like: "I think he/she got the point!"

Q.O.S & C.R:

Everything about them - they just don't feel like James Bond movies.

P.S. Bring back the Bond of old, pleeeeeease.

In Dr No, Bond being locked in a small cell ....... with a whacking great air vent on the wall.

If it had been a bit of a squeeze it wouldn't have been so bad but Bond could have probably stood in this air vent.

All it needed was an exit sign next to it with an arrow.

Surely, from all the official BonRAB at least, the re-booted CR is the closest film to the Bond of old? It's very faithful to the source novel (apart from the ending, but at least they used the last line of the novel).

Haha! You know the Bond franchise seems so set on becoming right-on and PC that I'm surprised a little bi/curious action hasn't become de rigeur...
and I never watch them.

In The Living Daylights, there is a scene where Bond is captured and thrown into a jail cell by a sadistic 'Russian' guard.

But the guard is played by a heavily scouse-accented actor called Ken Sharrock (vaguely familiar from a lot of tv roles)...with barely any attempt whatsoever to change his natural accent, which makes the whole scene cringeworthy.

It always made me wonder how a Bond movie would allow an actor to be cast like that, with obviously no ability to come up with a credible accent whatsoever.

I've seen this film many many times and i've never sensed any scouse accent in the guard at all.:confused: I'll have to check that out.

Edit ITV4 +1. Didn't sense any scousers in that jail cell that's for sure.

I loved Moonraker, probably better watching it at the time of release, the Space Shuttle was cool back then. Part of the Sci Fi boom that Star Wars brought about.

Jaws was great.:D

Indeed.

The Spy Who Loved Me promised that Bond would return in For Your Eyes Only but Star Wars was such a success they went for Moonraker instead and that has the same tagline at the end : James Bond Will Return in For Your Eyes Only .

I'm surprised they never changed that .
The original release for Goldfinger promised that Bond would return OHMSS but in the interim they decided to make Thunderball instead ( long story behind that change) and adjusted the end of the Goldfinger credits accordingly.
As a curiosity when Sky were first showing the Bond movies in HD they actually screened Goldfinger with the OHMSS tag at the end which at least seemed to indicate the HD restorations really did access the original negatives .

The tag was adjusted before a much improved HD version was released on Bluray.

No I didn't mean Flemming's Bond. I mean the Bond from Connery's, Moore's era. I will not pay to see a poor man's Bourne knock off. Give me Bond walking out of explosions with his hair straight, cheesey one linners, audatious gadgets and outlandish bad guys. It used to be an escape watching Bond, now it's like any other movie and doesn't stand out at all.
