There's nothing striking about it other than how incredibly bland it is and The Beatles already perfected the miminalism concept with The White Album. I'm not a fan at all of miminalism but it can be well done, that album looks really cheap and tacky though.

And D&D metal covers are f*cking awesome when done well.

Solid album, the vocals have to be pretty shocking for them to put me off a record. Lyrics > Music > Vocal delivery. You should give it another chance. I've not heard it in a while either, I might stick it on.
