Worst actor to have ever appeared on TV?

Did you see the recent one where Charlie was present when Megan took an overdose to end her suffering from cancer? Now that was excellent acting from all involved!
 
not sure if anyone has mentioned him yet - but simon amstell in grandma's house.

i like him as a presenter but as an actor he is the pitts
 
Much better than Billie "one expression" Piper.

On the male side: Denis Waterman. I've seen furniture that acts better.

I don't watch soaps but imagine there must be quite a few there.
 
That's a shame, I thought all the women in OFAH were as excellent as the men. Cassandra Trotter was played by Gwyneth Strong, who's had an excellent career as a supporting actress for over 20 years. The other female lead was Tessa Peake-Jones, who played Racquel Turner - another very experienced and accomplished actress. OFAH excellence was due not only to the superb John Sullivan scripts, but also to the top-drawer cast.
 
Shane Richie. Pathetic excuse at acting.

I also really dislike Trevor Eve and most of the time David Tennant.

Not sure about worst to have EVER appeared on tv, but I don't think either are very good.
 
Hannah Tointon who played Katy Fox in Hollyoaks was absolutely dreadful..... but not as bad as Helen Flanagan who plays Corrie's Rosie, I can't even stand to watch her and there have been times I've just turned Corrie off completely if she's been the centre of storylines I find her that unbearable.
 
I know what you mean, though many will disagree,
I think a lot of the "big names" in acting relied on "screen presence"..and Sean Connery has that in spades.
The same could be said of John Wayne, Charlton Heston, and dozens of others.
I still enjoy practically every film Connery has appeared in, I guess charisma has a lot to do with it..does star quality and screen presence top acting ability? I think the answer is yes..sometimes.
 
I think it was called The Price and it was good.

My worst actor on TV at the moment has to be that guy who plays Nick Tilsley in Coronation Street. Come to think of it the last guy to play him (Adam Rickitt?) was rubbish too.
 
I thought Ronald Allen was the original wooden actor.

I think all soap "actors" are given one instruction "say the words and try and make a meaningful expression"
