Worst actor to have ever appeared on TV?

Every time there's a thread mentioning Paul Shane I have to trot this out. If you think he's a bad actor, well, hear his singing. It never loses its appeal :D

Other terrible actors- Dev out of Coronation Street, Mo Slater (no finess), Michael Caine. Will think of some more, I'm sure.

Beg to differ! Running a fansite devoted to her, I would! Jan has been on our screens for 30 years, and, yes, is best known for her parts in Secret Army, Just Good Friends and Stay Lucky, but her repertoire apart from this has been huge and she's never been stereotyped - every part she plays is always fresh and different. She's next on the ITV1 drama U Be Dead on 5 September at 9pm - and this is possibly her best tv drama work for a very long time.

I find David Morrisey very unbelievable, but it could just be his voice. It sounds so flat all the time.

I wouldn't even dignify bringing Shane Ritchie into it - should have stayed doing the holiday camps. It's as if he watched Michael Caine in the 1960s and decided to strip out the personality, humour and acting skills

Kind of agree. But to be fair he's not given a lot of scope to work with because Clark has to be portrayed as pure and good. On the other hand other actors have managed to maintain Clark's goodness but give the character dimension. Terrible to think the lead character in Smallville is the most borning. :D

If you're going to be stupid enough to pick holes In Secret Army, then the main culprits have to surely be the amazingly upmarket Natalie and the bizarely overrated Monique, not Yvette!

Life though is unjust. SA last about 40 episodes, Allo allo about 40 years (or it felt like it). Angela Richards even appears to have got a singing career out of it. Mercifully Juliet Hammond-Hill didn't get an acting career though.

I can only make an opinion on what I have seen. You may not think it's a 'proper' opinion because it doesn't accord with yours.

By your own admission he's made quite a few bummers over the years, so how many would I have to watch? I stand by what I say and let's agree to differ.

Having been the first person to mention Secret Army on this thread it's hardly unreasonable to assume your comment was aimed at me.

Yeah? Well you noted wrong didn't you?

the alladin in the new sky adverts no emotion and boring voice its like they walked in to the office and picked a randomer who has no expierience and that is what you get and sky subscribers pay for that

The woman who played Kasandra in Only Fools and Horses was a terrible actress. Totally ruined the show for me and I started to go off it when they brought her in.
