Worst actor to have ever appeared on TV?

There are so many poor soap 'actors' you could list most of them.

Antony Cotton - AKA the stereotype.
Kym Marsh - hair-flicking and smirking do not constitute 'acting'.
Jimmi Harkishin - becoming something of a legend...for all the wrong reasons.
Helen Flanagan - playing a pouting tart but can't even make that seem convincing.

Shane Richie - just awful. There was never much hope for the Minder remake but his Pontins holiday act performance absolutely destroyed it.

He was also a villain in The Long Good Friday..played the part convincingly as well !
Far from the worst actor on tv..De Niro or Pacino would struggle to make anything out of a Casualty script. :)

There is a very sad but true* story behind this. Helen never actually wanted to be in Corrie, but the producers thought that she would be the perfect person for the part and so arranged for her to be kidnapped. For the past 36 years she has been held captive on the Corrie set, only being allowed out to film her scenes. In a vain attempt to be rescued, she's been using her eyelids to blink out "SOS" in the hope that someone watching will understand her plight and come to her aid.

Sadly the Corrie producers have managed to hush it up - it's not widely known that Corrie actually wield the power behind the scenes in Government. The reason Michael Grade was brought into ITV was because he knows where the bodies are buried at the BBC (behind the garden tools stored shed in the Blue Peter garden for anyone interested) so can keep them from breaking the news.

I only know this story because a friend of a friend of a friend of a relative heard it in the pub from someone who once met a Corrie producer at a McDonalds they were working at.

*may not be true

Wasn't there a really lousy actress on Crossroads (perhaps that doesn't narrow it down enough :D) who'd get her lines wrong or come in at the wrong time. It was a cleaning lady? Amy Turtle?

Linking to David Tennant (as she's his girlfriend), but Georgia Moffet. I think she's dreadful. She was awful in Doctor Who as, 'The Doctor's Daughter', and then she appeared in Merlin, and was even worse in that.

Another contender; Marlon from Emmerdale, though his bizarre style is verging on so bad it's good (like Dev on Coronation Street).

Also remember some great wooden acting on Sunset Beach, Days of Our Lives and Prisoner Cell Block H.
