Working on my own cartoon, have an important question.

They don't, and what's more, they never did. Ethnic diversity is appreciated by networks, but it's certainly not enforced. Look at the shows that are currently on the air. How many of them have a representative from every single race and ethnic group? Not many. Very few, in fact. Don't feel pressured to add an Asian character to your cast if you don't have any ideas for one. It's not a requirement, and you shouldn't make race a prime motivator for your show(s). Just make the kind of show that you want to make. A network isn't going to force you to add an Asian character to your cast, and I really doubt that a network executive is going to tell you "No. We're going to pass on this because you don't have an Asian character"., especially seeing as how there plenty of TV shows that have made it to the air which don't have any Asian, Indian, Latino, etc. characters at all. Creators should concentrate on characters' personality and purpose for the series first and on their ethnicity second.
