Can I just say I get so upset when other people don't do their own job and I have to

Yesterday I was talking with the woman I pet-sit for and I was trying to give her a gentle reminder that she had not paid me yet for doing extra work.

The conversation went like this:

Me: I just wanted to let you know that I watered your garden as you requested.

Her: Oh, yeah.

Me: And I thought you should know I was stung by a wasp while I was in your garden.

Her: Where?

Me: It stung me about an inch from my eye. Very scary.

Her: No, I meant where were you in the garden?

Me: I was near the back gate. That sting really hurt.

Her: Are you sure it was a wasp?

Me: I saw the wasp when I brushed it away after it stung me.

Her: There are no wasps in my garden. Just what made you think it was a wasp?

........... There is just no talking with some people. I don't think there's any point in me mentioning that she also forgot to pay me back for the cat kibble I had to purchase so that her cats wouldn't go hungry.

Most first time jobs here in the US tend to be service industry things--like working in a shop or serving in a fast food place.

If you haven't got any job experience to put on a resume, you should list your school history from high school and college. And you should add information about the activities you have been involved in, especially if you have held office in any organization.

Good luck with finding your first job.

Well, this is not a work annoyance since I'm unemployed. I hope this still counts since it pertains to work.

I'm 20 years and have never had a real job. I have done little things here and there but I have never had an actual job, I guess you could say. Well, I have two questions. Number one, what is a good first job to have? Number two, if the job requires a resume, what do you put on said resume? I always wonder what do first-time job workers put on their resumes.

:group_hug:

I hate it when you ask someone to do something and they, thinking they know better, do something different, confusing everyone in the process and ruining the plan you'd thought carefully through in the first place.

Just had to resurrect this thread :irked:

My boss is driving me mad lately. She's lovely and I really enjoy working with her but she has this habit of making a big deal out of things that really don't matter that much. Someone has just started in our department and, ok, he's pretty senior and she is being so sycophantic and bending over backwards about every little thing he mentions. It just annoys me to see people being like that. Obviously be friendly and welcoming but she's acting like his slave right now, and dragging me into it with her.

Cats are actually really great that way. They always know when someone is distressed and will come over to make you feel better! I love cats. Too bad I have a dog!!

I thought about writing something. Maybe a short story. Classes online- I didn't think of that. That's a great idea! I do want to take some classes so that could work. Thanks!

Hi everyone  I'm new to this particular thread and I'd like to vent. In June I went on maternity leve with the intention to take the rest of the year off and go back to work in January. I got a phone call from my two weeks ago and get this, the woman I trained to fill in while I was gone decided that she was being "smothered" and didn't have enough authority so she decided to quit. It didn't matter that we explained to her that she would only have a junoir role as my junoir would be steeping up to do my job while I was gone. We drilled it into her before she accepted and she was all "That's ok, I only want a small job, blah blah blah" Bitch So now they've had to yank someone from production, they got a crash course in a week and because I'm a nice person (too damn nice sometimes) I agreed to come back in the mornings to help her before the other QA starts. NOT HAPPY!!!

I have a guy who calls giving me sport stars name...thinking it's funny...but I don't watch sports so I think it's acutally his name. It's so aggitating, I'm like JUST GIVE ME YOUR NAME! UGH it makes me so annoyed.

 I am so sorry things have been so bad for you lately. That does suck that your co-workers didn't even think to include you in the group gift.... :(

I'm really sensitive, too, so I can imagine how this must make you feel because my stepdad was very passive aggressive. If he thought he was successful in getting at me, it just made him act even worse because he got a charge out of making me upset.

So I think that if you can manage not to respond to this guy's comments, it may slow him down. If he continues being really snide, you might need to start keeping a log of his comments in case you have to lodge a complaint. It's really hard to prove when someone is passive agressive, though.

I hope that he doesn't have to stay in your office.

I've worked every Saturday night since July and it doesn't look like it's changing any time soon.

People who try and steal stuff from our store, we know who they are so we're always watching them or acting like we're doing something in the food store

Where do I start...

today, I was told I was written up for insubordination and this was with out prior warning

i'm inconsiderate

i don't follow company rules

i don't listen to my supervisor

and i do whatever i want

it was like i was reading someone else performance review because this is so not me. I couldn't believe it.

My she boss can't ask anything without screaming. The woman has serious issues with speaking to others in low voice.
And judges people from nowhere. When we do nothing wrong.
There's more but I'm so tired of complaining of her that I prefer to stick in my corner
