Wordsmith 2.2.17 vs 2.2.23

I have been using Wordsmith 2.2.17 for a while, as that's the latest updated version at Handmark. However, apparently there has been a 2.2.23 version available for some time from somewhere else.

Is anyone using the newer version? Apparently it's around 8k larger, so there must be a couple of improvements but I can't find a copy to even try.

I'd be curious as to subtle differences or increased reliablility. My version does NOT crash, but I was wondering if they'd improved the WordComplete thing or other little changes such as D-Pad control, etc.

Thanks!

Sorry, none of my clients use WordSmith.

The only thing I've seen is from Blue Nomad's web site that details out what enhancements have taken place since version 2.2.17, but I'm guessing you've seen this already -

Version 2.2.23: (June 18, 2004)
WordSmith installer file updated for XP support.
Version 2.2.22: (April 7, 2004)
Bug fix regarding deleting text with onscreen keyboard and OS 5 devices
Version 2.2.21: (February 16, 2004)
Support for virtual graffiti on Garmin iQue 3600
Option to install WS Desktop icon into Palm Desktop
Version 2.2.20: (January 24, 2004)
Updated Windows Installer. Smaller download file!
Updated PocketPurchase plugin on Handheld WordSmith
Version 2.2.19: (December 13, 2003)
Update to conduit regarding detection of PocketPurchase
registration via the handheld device.
Version 2.2.18: (December 4, 2003)
FineType font Unknown high density dispatch bug fixed.
Affects OS 5 devices with high resolution screens.

I can certainly understand your opinion that if it works - don't fix it. It could be downloaded directly from the manufacturer's web site, however, I do see the note that says "Please note: if you purchased WordSmithPro from Handmark, you must upgrade with the Handmark version of WordSmith."

Interesting -

And do you risk a problem by downloading the newest version from Blue Nomad?

No, I had not gone to Blue Nomad to check on the uprades, none of which appear to affect my situation or the handheld app (other than the fine type font thing, but all I use is Verdana). The POcket Purchase thing is a huge, invasive joke and I wish I could disable it - but only options on Palm dsktop are related to how often, not "on/off."

Downloading the Blue Nomad version is no good because they're different SERIAL reg#s; if you purchase from Handmark a Blue Nomad "type" won't respond to the Handmark Reg Code, unfortunately. I have to wait for Handmark to start carrying the latest version - and they're still on 2.2.17!!!

Thanks for your research and time - I can check it now myself form now on and I'm most grateful.
