Out of curiousity, what do you guys think of the new superhero series WordGirl which is one of those new childrens' programs they showed so far.

To me, I think is a great, but funny learning series for people who don't know new words and the characters & the supervillains in the show are pretty funny which Becky/WordGirl,Bob/Capt.Huggyface,Violet,Emily,Dr.2-Brains,Chuck the Evil Sandwich Making Guy,Scoops,The Whammer & Tobey are my favorite characters & in the ending credits I'm shocked:eek: that Chris Parnell(SNL),Tom Kenny,Cree Summer, & Wanda Sykes are apart of the voice cast which Tom Kenny rocks:D as Dr.Two-Brains which he's done alot of great villains so far since The Penguin,Mumbo Jumbo,Starscream,& Waspinator and also did another bratty brother character(T.J.) since Wayne Cramp(The Cramp Twins) which he's my most favorite awesome voice actor.

I randomly caught a couple of episodes a few weeks ago, it's a very cute show. The animation is nothing to write home about, but I like her sidekick.

I like the show. The writing is pretty good, and the animation is great. Oh, and I love at the end when they show the "favorite word" segment and the kids speaking are animated!

Plus, I think it's funny when Captain Huggyface does his little dance at the end too!

Heh heh, not two weeks ago was I thinking about whether or not anyone else was watching this show.

I like it to be honest. The animation and character designs are nice and the show itself, while educational, has a decent plot and doesn't allow the learing aspect to get in the way, unlike Dora or Diegeo, etc, etc. It won't appeal to adults in the same way as Arthur does, but that's not to say that adults won't find it watchable. I try and catch it whenever I can, mainly because it is (literally) the most entertaining show I can find at 5 o'clock in the evening (I'm too tight for cable you see).

I really can't see why this show isn't considered suitable for under 7s. I mean, Camp Lazlo was TV-Y7, but that had loads of physical, slapstick humour in it that could prove influential. WordGirl isn't really like that at all.

Wordgirl is actually, well, great. Its loopy sense of humor is very funny and it's not something that only exists to teach little kids to read at a very basic level by talking about letters or something. In fact, it's more of a vocabulary expansion type show. How often do you use, for example, pugnacious in every day conversation? That's one of the words kids were introduced to in one of the "favorite word" segments.

Wordgirl usually focuses on including and then somehow illustrating two vocabulary words per segment, but they work them into entertaining stories.

They illustrated stubborn, for example, with a story about a reformed supervillain who snapped and threatened to drown his boss in a tank of gravy because his boss hated sandwhiches and wouldn't eat them. He kept trying to get the boss to eat numerous delicious sandwiches until, finally, the illustrated the word compromise when they found a sandwhich the boss would agree to eat, I think it was BLT or something that the boss didn't actually consider a sandwhich.

My thoughts exactly.

To be honest, this is one of my favorite cartoons, not only right now, but also of all time. Kids' shows don't get much more clever than this one.

Coming in a bit late, but yeah, great show. It's the kind of thing that adults can watch without shame; best thing PBS Kids has put out in a long time.

Scholastic Corporation (Clifford The Big Red Dog and Puppy Days, The Magic School Bus, Maya and Miguel) owns Soup2Nuts (also producers of Home Movies and O' Grady), see the copyright.

Word Girl is a great show, currently the best show on PBS Kids after Arthur, and before Fetch!, Cyberchase, Martha Speaks (Ironic, ain't it?) and last and very, very, least, Maya and Miguel.
