Woohooo, Changed My N73 Housing

Housing and keypad came in the post this morning courtesy of Nokia Service Centre. Cost just over ?30 for the housing and keypad but at least i know they are definately oem.

Was dreading changing the housings but was easier than i thought, followed that N73 dissasembly vid on youtube last night which gave me an idea, hardest part was taking that surround around the screen

Looks so much better in white and red now though, white and red is pretty damn rare here in UK...

I have a scratched red/white and I bought an OEM red/white casing and I was going to replace mine this weekend. Do you have a link for the video? Thanks.

Uh....sorry my confusion! The first pic looks more like black on black housing of the ME model, not the silver/plum (which I have). There's so much 'mid point grey' in that photo that the white balance is thrown off.

I'm looking for OEM black housing. Yeah....I know about cnn.cn. Bought from them before, just seeing if there was a black take off from a N73 ME. I'm thinking black back with white front, or like someone mentioned, black back, silver front.

regarding price i'd say a ?10 for the front/rear/keypad, then whatever shipping is, i know you guys are across the pond but still would'nt cost much to send i guess
 
After viewing the video, I don't think I would have to disassemble the middle part.

Scott did you have to remove the middle part or just the front and back?
 
You changed the housing and you have dust and all kinds of small fingerprints inside your display. I would not do that no matter how much I dislike the look of my phone. If I want it black, I trade this one (silver) for a Music Edition. I admire the fact that the dust under the display doesnt bother you. Cheers for you!
 
You have to remove the front, take out the screen lift the part with the keypad out then the main part with cam etc plugged in, then take out the aerial and put it in your new housing, i did'nt have to take the vibrate motor and charging port etc as them parts were already in my new housing.

And about dust? I have no dust under my screen? One wipe with a cloth that came with my s700i and its dust free
 
Hrmm (pound sign)10 eh? (sorry, ignorant yank here, don't know the ascii code for it)... I think I can manage like $22 after S&H... Does that sound about right?
