Ok, as you all know (well the non regulars will be going 'huh? what are you talking about?) tomorrow is the big day for my final interview for the job I want.
However Ive just been informed that Ive been successful for another job interview I attended. This job doesnt pay as much as the one Im after, but still represents about 15k a year more than what Im on now.
So tell me what you think of this plan and whether its going to back fire on me.
Im going to delay my decision on the job Ive just been offered till tomorrow. Then if Im successful for the job I want, see if I can push them up another 5 grand a year from what I originally asked for. If it all goes wrong, I end up with a job still paying me 15 grand a year more. If it goes right, and I get the job I want plus even more money, it would be around 25 grand a year more than what Im on now.
Should I chance it being cheeky and hitting them up for more money or just be sensible?
The only thing that worries me slightly is that I overplay my hand and end up with no job out of it.
but something tells me that I will probably be successful tomorrow and surely I might as well see if I can get an extra 5k a year (which in proportion to the salary offered is quite small anyway so its not like Im taking the P or anything).
EDIT- And just for your info, the lower paid job would enable me to spend more time on YA though LOL.
