Woodchucks and gardening?

OK so I had this grand plan to start a garden this year.
I bought alllll these different types of seeds and things today.

Then- my mom remembered that in the warmer months we get woodchucks in our yard!

I'm afraid they're going to burrow down and eat all of my plants!
What types of fruits/vegetables/plants would woodchucks be/not be interested in getting a hold of?


And what could I do to stop them?!

There's no way I'm just going to give up on my garden. I have been so excited about this for so long!


Here are all the seeds I bought:

sweet peppers
lettuce
snow peas
sweet corn
squash
carrots
cantaloupe
honeydew melon
spinach
pumpkins
watermelon
strawberries
rhubarb
and broccoli

I know this sounds like A LOT!
But these will be spread between my huge yard, and my dad's yard about 2 and a half miles away, which doesn't get woodchucks or anything crazy like that.

The woodchucks won't visit your garden via a tunnel, they usually just walk right in and make themselves at home. As far as stopping them, that's another story. A fence that has the bottom securely fastened to the ground might slow them down a bit.

The only thing I've found that totally deters the buggers is a dose of "lead poisoning" delivered via a bullet. Personally, I'd plant everything at your Dads......
