Woo hoo! Comcast finally gets SyFy!

I was very disappointed when I got Comcast a few years ago and discovered they didn't carry SyFy on their basic package. I wouldn't have cared a year earlier, but that was right when they started airing anime. So, the last time I was able to watch SyFy was when they were airing Tokko, Macross Plus, and that weird show about people from the future. Anyway, recently Comcast has decided to include SyFy in their basic package and I'm psyched! So, what anime is SyFy currently airing and how far into those series are they?

Right now Monster. I'm sure they'll rerun it in the future though as it seems to be doing solidly. Gurren will hopefully be reran in a bit.

I'm more looking forward to what new shows they pull out of their hat, either via Viz (anything but Final Act) Bandai (come on Shin Mazinger!) or Manga proper.

Weird, I have comcast and I have already had Syfy for years it feels like. At least since gurren laggan showed up on their channel as that is when I started watching it.

What does this mean for Time wanner cable, will it cut the syfy from it channel line up or is this the frist step in comcast in steps in cutting the crap from TWC aka time wanner cable (just wondering)

SyFy also just finished their second run of Now and Then, Here and There about two weeks ago.

The Comcast in my area has Cartoon Network, Disney XD, and SyFy in their expanded basic tier. No Boomerang or FUNimation Channel, not even in their digital tier.

Speaking of digital, they plan to convert all their channels to digital by the end of year. The only channels remaining on analog will be the basic broadcast channels.
The downside is all the digital channels will be encrypted due to contract obligations with the broadcasters. So even if you have a clear QAM tuner, it won't work.

So, how far into Descendants of Darkness are they and is there anywhere to catch up on that one online? I figure I should try to catch up on at least one of these shows. I've seen two episodes of Gurren Lagann and one episode of Monster. Since, they're both on hulu, I can watch either of them. Which one should I watch? I'm thinking I should go with Monster since there's a chance they'll repeat Gurren Lagann on SyFy again, not to mention after seeing two episodes of Gurren Lagann it looks pretty stupid.

Well, of course you get those channels in the expanded package. Expanded costs more than the basic, you know. Comcast always had SyFy on the Expanded package, but they recently moved it to the basic package.

...I've have Comcast for over five years now, and Sci-Fi/SyFy has always been in the basic package (I know this because I remeraber watching the Ninth Doctor episodes of Doctor Who when they were first premiering here, and we sure as hell didn't have the extended package by that point).

It seems it all depenRAB on the area, really. Your area might have had it in the expanded package, but mine had it in the basic.
