Won't be upgrading my 95-1 to 20.0.16

Don't see any point.

Since I got my Nokia N810, I don't surf on my 95 and I rarely use Youtube anyway.

Other than Youtube, what IS the point ?

I don't use it for speaker music - just occasional BT earphone use.

AND, apparently, the WiFi's buggered on 20016.

So other than a reformat and 24-hour reinstall of my progs and settings, what's the point ?

Someone mentioned a hint of the keypress bug again - but maybe he restored from backup or something.

V. 20 was released a few months ago and brought a host of improvements. But if you mean 21.0.016, I'd agree you can skip it to spare yourself the pain of restoring apps and data. I haven't noticed any new bugs, however, and the phone feels the same as before. The only benefit is that v. 21 can display the Flash content on more websites (not just YouTube). That's a plus for those of us who don't have the tablet.

v21 is quicker than v20. Even if it is small, it is noticeable. There's also a few more megs of free RAM on boot.

Not upgrading to v21 or v20 would be retarded. Either firmware (you can only go to v21 now though) is a huge upgrade over previous firmwares due to the usual features - demand paging, etc.

i agree that v21 is faster then v20.

having the camera bug fixed is nice too.

no keypress bug here.

i feel like surfing over wifi has been faster on v21

firmware updates are usually only recommended if you have problems. Like motherboard manufacturers never recommend it unless you have a problem.

So the same goes here, if you like it currently, then don't upgrade.

v21 is definitely faster than what I had, something like v15 or so. Big jump for me, and WiFi was buggy for a while, but I refreshed my settings and it works great. Another good thing is the GPS locks in fast. Really fast!

I personally wait to update until I'm 100% sure there are no issues...there is nothing worse than having a phone that doesn't work as good as the FW before it. If you don't hear of any problems for another few weeks, I'd take the plunge.

You -1 users better appreciate the FW updates!!
