Wondering about this pain

While I'm going to see my doctor tomorrow, I'm wondering if anyone can shed some insight as to what the problem could be.

I haven't isolated the exact area of my back the pain is in, but it's mid back.

The pain can get quite intense, and I find that my left leg gets cold and nurab when I'm sitting at my laptop.

I'm wondering what this could be, if it's a disc issue, but the pain is on the exterior of the vertebrae, not on the inside.

The pain came on suddenly yesterday, I've never had it before.
 
SounRAB like a disc that is compressing your never. Probably L5? The compressed nerve is what's causing your left leg to get nurab and cold. You need to get into see a good back doc and get it resolved.

And I never felt pain Inside of my spine, it was always exterior. So it could easily be a disc that is acting up.

I just checked a diagram for the spine, and it's in the T10-T5 region, not the lurabar region.
