Wonder Woman/ The Flash

Announced on the same day... hopes for two of the anticipated DC Comics movies seem dashed-

Wonder Woman
Joss Whedon has pulled out of the project.
Whedon and Warner couldn't agree on the direction of the film.

The Flash
David Goyer has pulled out of the project.
Goyer and Warner couldn't agree on the direction of the film.

Wonder what'll happen now?

I'm in two minRAB about what I think about Joss leaving WW.

Part of me is glad 'cos I'm not sure if he could pull it off, don't get me wrong he's an amazing writer but I think he's better when he has complete control of the character - so he doesn't have to pander to fans and doesn't have to stick to a universe that's been created by other writers before him.

It would have been great to hove him hit the big time with it though. At least we'll get Goners now though.

David Goyer wrote Batman Begins I think, so it's a surprise that he's no longer involved in The Flash, he was quite keen to make it (with Ryan ReynolRAB as the lead).

Charisma Carpenter wanted the role of Wonder Woman- would she still consider going for it if her Buffy boss is no longer around?

I think she is more likely to want the role if he's not involved as they were not exactly 'close'. That's why she was killed off in Angel... Personally I think she would be a fantastic choice for WW. Hope it still gets made and that is picked.

Haha... this is classic. They lose the guy who made 'Batman Begins' and the next day hire the guy who made 'Cheaper by the Dozen'.

I'm rather glad Whedon is off 'Wonder Woman', he's too good for such a lame franchise. Although that does put a crimp on Morena Baccarin (who was the bookies' favourite). Ho hum - onward an upward of another of them. I bet Joel Schumacher and Brett Ratner want this one.

On top of these two films, Warner have greenlit a 'Justice League' movie.

Variety

If they managed to get Christian Bale, Brandon Routh, whoever is going to play Wonder Woman and Flash then thats four characters- who else should be in it?

A Green Latern? Hawkgirl? Black Canary or Green Arrow?

If they really do go ahead with it, the film could be fantastic... it could also be a disaster, but the X-Men films have shown how multiple heroes work together well.

I thought so too. Timing would be hard- The Dark Knight comes out in 2008, The Man of Steel is due for 2009 and who knows about WW or The Flash.

Loved the cartoon though.

I think the general public wouldn't 'get' Captain Cold- he'd appear to be too much like Mr Freeze.

I confess I don't know that many Flash villains- Gorilla Grodd, Weather Wizard and Captain Boomerang spring to mind, but no one stanRAB out to me, not like Superman-Lex Luthor, Batman-Joker.
