the only bit of news i have heard is that now Katie Holmes is being considered. She was mentioned before, but apparently she is seriously being considered this time...

idk, still nothing major as far as news though. which is killing me because i loooove wonder woman!
 
well i did hear sophia was being considered...that was quite a while ago, and i'm not sure where i heard it from.

as for a blonde, i'm not really in favor...idk i've always been such a huge wonder woman fan, i'm hoping they go more traditional i guess...save the blondes for when and if they ever make a supergirl movie. supergirl rocks too.

i really still love eliza dushku best for the part. i also think erica durance's should be considered, she'd be great too. but i'd be happy with ANY news at this point! lol

It's interesting to see so many different people's opions on who should play the part. Above it said how some people think Catherine Zeta-Jones is too old, while others really like her for the part.

The part about Cameron Diaz made me cringe. I'm not insulting her at all, but I really really can't see her playing the part. I almost think it's a rumor that she turned down the role, cuz I can't see Joss asking her. But hey u never know I suppose.

Kate Beckinsale is very interested in the role. She said, "I dressed up as her last Halloween so it would be good to do it again."

I myself, heard a rumor a while ago, something about Minnie Driver playing the role. Again not a top choice for me, but that's what I heard.

Serenity and Firefly star Morena Baccarin has supposedly talked to Joss Whedon about playing the part. She said that she was not offered the part, but talked to him about it. This is what she looks like:

Personally I'm not saying Morena Baccarin is bad for the role, because I've never seen Firefly before, so I feel as though I can't say. However, I'm not sure if she has the look or not. Maybe, maybe not, I don't know. BUT, if Joss is suddenly okay with casting people he has worked with before, than I seriously suggest yet again, that he considered Eliza Dushku and Charisma Carpenter. I don't know much about this Morena Baccarin, but if he's willing to hire someone he's worked w/ before, than he should consider one of them (IMO).

I don't want someone who already played a comic character or something..

But Carpenter sounds nice..
 
Angelina won't do it and they won't offer it to her because of her Tomb Raider experiences -- Namely, it is very hard for female heroines to pull of successful franchises and that is what I am sure the studio is hoping for WW.

I think Hollywood needs to bite the bullet and hire someone in their 30s-40s considering this is Wonder Woman and not Wonder Girl, or WW: Year I.

I say this because it is obvious they want the younger audiences... But I also think that this may hurt the film more than help it because WW has always been in her 30s-40s in the comics and TV show adaptations and it is more believeable that a person with more experience behind them can take on the responsibilities of being WW even if the first film is a backstory.

and i also agree on the fact that Barton is waaaay too skinny to play WW! she looks like she could break any minute, so she wouldn't be convincing at all!

and i only saw JA in Dark Angel and stuff, haven't seen SC i'm afraid, and i think she does have the right looks, but definately not the talent!
 
I loved WW as a kid so if/when the movie is made, I'll probably see it. But now that Joss is gone, I'm no longer excited for this. I guess I should've seen it coming since the movies being in pre-production forever but this sucks.
 
Top two pics:

Lauren Graham and Charisma Carpenter. They are both the "right" age for WW and have the best screen presence of everyone... That comes mainly from their confidence of being the oldest which is what I think most of you are picking up on.

Katie Holmes isn't bad, but I hope she doesn't use Tom Cruise to bully her way into the role.

Jessica Biel wouldn't be that bad as well... But I think she has too much baggage coming into the role in terms of her reputation and I think Joss will want an actress who will play the part and no overshadow it with media and personal gossip.

i like either Lauren Graham or Lucy Lawless. i think either of them would do a great job.
 
I told my sister ( a die hard Wonder Woman fan growing up) that Lauren Graham might get the chance to be Wonder Woman and she totally agreed she would be the perfect person.
 
I really hope neither of them are being considered for this role. Barton is faaaar too thin, she looks like she weighs probably 80 pounds and Alba is too bad of an actress and as I think, doesn't have the build for the character.
 
yeah, rachel bilson can play the part, too... after all, she's pretty and she's a brunette, too...
