Okay, so, I have a question about some feminine issues.
I am a 19 year old college student, and lately I've been having some problems. First of all, I'm on the Pill, and I usually take it quite regularly with some variation in the time I take it daily and occasionally I miss a pill or two. The last time I had sex was the beginning of December and it was unprotected. Prior to and after having sex I missed a few pills. The week after I had sex I started bleeding kind of like a period but it wasn't too long and it wasn't as heavy as normal and most of the blood was brownish. No clots or anything like I normally have. That was the last "period" I had. In January, I didn't have a period at all. I was expecting one, but it never came. Well, I wasn't too concerned about it because I've been a little sick, mostly to my stomach, for about two weeks now and I have ovarian cysts on occasion. Then, two days ago, I started a gym membership and I worked out for about forty minutes that day. During that time I worked on the treadmill and elliptical and managed to burn 200 calories. The next morning, I started bleeding just a little, and it was mostly just brown spots. Throughout the day, the bleeding got a little heavier but still not bad. I assumed that I was just starting my period because I haven't had one in so long! That night, I passed a fairly good sized blood clot and the brown blood had a bit more light red tint to it, but soon there was no more red to be seen. Today, I haven't bled at all. I have never had a period that lasted fewer than 24 hours. I thought at first that my new exercise plan had caused some bleeding, but it didn't last long enough to even make sense. I also thought that the bleeding could've been caused by a yeast infection that I have, but it seemed like there was a little too much blood for it to have been caused by that. In addition, I have had to pee more often than normal. I have some kidney issues, so me having to go to the bathroom frequently is really rare. I often wake up in the middle of the night now with my lower abdomen aching until I use the bathroom. My lower abdomen also has this full feeling about it. It's kind of like being bloated only on the inside. It's a very awkward uncomfortable feeling.
So.. Now my question is where the heck have my periods gone? I have ALWAYS been extremely regular. My body works like clockwork. I haven't had any other changes like stress or anything to influence my cycle, so I'm quite confused and I'm beginning to get concerned. I can't get into my gyno for awhile because he's booked, and I also don't want to go if there's nothing wrong, but I am beginning to worry a bit.
I am not sure what this could be and until I can get to the doctor I would just like some kind of advice or ideas about what could be going on. Again, there hasn't been anymore bleeding since yesterday, so something is abnormal here. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
