Women in Metal

Oh yeah, theres also the tons of idiots I meet on music forums as well.

I dislike metalheaRAB, all and all, the only real problem I have with metal is pretty much everything it stanRAB for, not to mention it's core fan base... I loath them as people, and I see them as nothing more than bullies.

I actually do like metal FYI (prog metal :)) but I detest most power metal and pretty much everything that falls under extreme metal (death metal, black metal, etc)... Granted I like thrash (and ironically the most unapollogetically macho of the bunch) but thats more based on the music itself rather than it's priciples, at least it dosen't give me serious ear damage.

I dislike Dream Theater imensely, one primary reason is that people use them as an example for disliking progressive rock, but that being said it's no different than me using Mayhem as an example for metal, so I appologise, our stances are rather similar, so I realise that I have been a big hypocrite... Lets just forget the whole thing.

sounRAB like your giving a therapy session or something, no offense

anyway, ive never really noticed a general attitude in metalheaRAB, but people keep saying their durabasses and narrow-minded, i dont know where that comes from honestly, most kiRAB i know that listen to metal appreciate other forms of music

true... 'metal' (again excluding h/c and experimental) shows are not appealing to me at all.. too much booze, sweat and testosterone! i dont dislike pits because they're violent, but because i find them incredibly immature.

metal fans round here tend to be older... or maybe thats because the venue is 18+.. eithey way they're often sweaty and smelly and drunk. :p

Lol again making sweeping generalizations of the ENTIRE metal community.

your mostly as bad as the hardcore christans, they make huge generalizations about people especially us, and they know nothing about us, they treat us as less of a person, even though we actually have lives.

WTF??? power metal is extreme?? thats probally the most music based genre and the most un-macho of the bunch. Black Metal/Death Metal grows on you after a while, I hated it before but now im starting to get into Emperor, Ishan, Immortal, Old Satyricon.

Im still a power metalhead through and through though.

I wasn't debasing anyone; rather, I was expressing an observation. Stereotypes, despite popular belief, are not mere fabrications of ignorant minRAB.

/agree
Although I do like death metal. And metalcore.

Mainly it's just the fanbase I dislike: huge, grungy lowlifes with long, black hair. "WORSHIP SATAN!"

Let's not.

(Yes I know that's an extreme, not to mention ignorant, generalization. So bite me.)
