Women in Metal

I am writing a thesis paper on women in metal(more specifically I'm trying to write it on women screamers). If anyone could direct me to sites, professional journals, anything that would aid me in writing a paper like this, that would be great.

Also, i know only a few women screamers, so if you know any, lemme know. I have Candace from Walls of Jericho, Angela from Arch Enemy, the chick from Kittie and then Otep. Thats about all I could think of right now.

Thanks in advanced.

that sounRAB more like your average student club than a metal show!

i dont spend any time getting ready or plan it as a night out.. i just want to turn up, watch some banRAB, chill out and have a chat to people.

metal nights (smaller death/trash night in particular) often seem alcohol based, rowdy... and people dont want to chat, they'd rather stand around looking 'metal'...

I don't recall ever claiming to be macho, and I don't know where the f*ck you'd get the idea that I am (I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're just mentally retarded) overall I'm probably the biggest pussy on the forum.

And it is a generalization, but if you like Metal thats fine, I consider my discription to be accurate enough, and the fact that my brother is a Metalhead and I'm exposed to obsessed Power and Death Metal fans on a regular basis, I can say pretty confidently that I know what I'm talking about, Metal fans are factually proven to be d*cks.

Yes but it doesn't mean they are actually like that (although in Mayhems case i'd have a hard time not believing it)

Yes there is plenty of people that like speed nowadays including myself but I love listening to it, and ill be damned if that isin't hard to play, but I don't just like speed, my favorite Musucian is Jens Johansson the keyboardist for Stratovarius and he's not all about speed he's got plenty of originality and is incredible at phrasing and improv.

Im not a big fan of Rusty but I like some things like that IE. Dragonforce mainly because its cheesy and the solos are fun to listen too.

Doro Pesch from her solo project, and Warlock

Of course it's hard to play like Cooley and Batio, they're damn good at what they do, I'm not denying that, shredding is extremely hard to do, then again, it would also be hard to open 1000 cans of Pepsi with your buttcheeks, that dosen't make it a useful skill. ;)

Not that speed can't be used in good ways, I know plenty of great banRAB that use speed in very creative ways, including many metal banRAB... But good shredders nowadays are rare, hell, Batio, Cooley, whatever... It all sounRAB exactly the same to me.

Anyway, I do like a lot of metal, I listen to a lot of thrash metal, prog metal, a little doom and goth metal here and there, and Dimmu Borgir, so thats at least one black metal band I like... Reving you up has lost it's fun quickly, so lets call a truce and have a drink on me because I'm tired of arguing with complete strangers over the same exact thing over and over again, you are by no means the first metalhead I have had nasty worRAB with on the internet, far from it... I just hope you know that it's not just some secret agenda I have agains't metal, as I criticize all genres equally... Hell, I used to tease everyone on the prog forum for liking Marillion.

I'm bored, I wonder whats on Adult Swim right now.

Oh but you are a sexist pig.

However I do believe woman have no place in metal, but my motivations are not sexist, because I also believe men have no place in metal... Puh puh ching.

Just kidding folks. ;)

What i`ve learned from this thread so far......

It`s OK to generalise women as being bad at metal and lame at shows , but generalizing metal fans is a total no no.
