last week i found my strap holding my tail pipe rusted away. i took it to a shop on sharon road. they took off the broken one and put a strap on and bolted them. they charged 50.00 for parts and 45.00 for labor...had no real clue until my school bus mechanic saw what they put on and charged for it.said i was way way over charged for parts and more than likely labor. i went back to shop and spoke to the young guy that did the pricing. he said they had to cut it off with a torch...i was there for the 1 5 minute repair. no torch was needed or used.i have been offered an oil change to make up for it...but hey, they also did overcharge on lady downstairs. so time to say something....ladies i have been ripped of several times by car repairs. was told by dealership i needed altranator 4 years ago after my battery was checked to be sure my battery was bad.they wanted almost 400.00 for altranator... is there a news station in cincinnati that will expose these places?

i voted with mike BBB is the only place.... what people dont know is why they get in trouble.... knowing about how cars work and what it take to keep them working right is more important than driving them.... so if you was to pick up a book or do some reading here online to learn more about the cars you drive then you will never get riped off again.... sorry they seen you coming 45 bucks would have been high anywhere ... and never go to a dealer for work unless its free or its the only place in town that as the part for your car ... sorry but they are in business to sell not repair the guys there are your and know little about cars..... and alternators are high now days... you could once get a good one for 20 bucks... hey here is a good site to help with the car things there are others the more you read the better you will get.... in knowing how not to get taken

I don't know how much you can do in this situation, but reporting them to be Better Business Bureau seems like a good start.
