Here's my translation of the report on Yahoo! Japan:

The article gives the suspect's name as 福重智子, but I can't figure out which way to read it.

Oh yeah....

I read about that last night on ANN (not exactly the most trustworthy source, but oh well), tsk tsk tsk, Gives new meaning to the phrase "Love can drive a person to do crazy things", and this chick must've been hammered or something

(sigh) Poor Oda-sensei

And as for the name I don't know which way to read it either

I searched ANN for this story so I wouldn't have to go through the hassle of translating a Japanese source, but I must have been blind or something because it's *right there* on the main page. My bad.

^lol

As for the news report... wow. How incredibly immature. |: I can understand being upset, but she expects to get her way by doing that? REALLY?

Um, I think I got from left to right --> "Fuku-he-Chi-ko", so I THINK that might be read as Hechi Fuku ko... I'm not sure. >< Sorry, I'm not very good with Kanji.

What a jerk, sending threatening text messages to the most awesome creator of my top favorite awesome anime, which she got her just desserts by getting arrested which I'm glad, but there's always bad people out there you know, but I wonder what bad thing that her husband did when Oda fired him, hmmmmm.

Not really. You can get fired for anything; economic troubles, poor work performance, refusing a boss' sexual advances, etc.

Or maybe he spilled ink on Oda's new chapters so he can get ahead on the manga and get that vacation he always wanted..

=P Yeah that's so what happened..

Well it could be, but actually I think that was the last name, which would have been read first before Tomoko. I know that Tomoko is a common Japanese female name, so... xP

Basically, it could have been anything.

... Not quite though. XD;; Only a bit, I'm more knowledgeable when it comes to Hiragana and Romaji... although conjuring worRAB is confusing. @_@

Heck, we can't even be entirely sure that Oda himself fired her husband. Someone higher up could've fired him, and because her husband worked for Oda, she just decided to target him instead of a faceless superior.

Anyways, I'm sorry, but I actually laughed when I read that topic title. There's just something about sending empty threats to a highly-praised manga creator that hasn't really done anything wrong that seems funny, as various people here are showing.

Kind of reminRAB me of the split-second shots of threatening e-mails to Hideaki Anno showing up in End of Eva.

Besides, she shouldn't balme Oda unless she found out the reason why he fired her husband. Maybe he just laid the poor guy off because of how bad the economy is right now.

...so wouldn't this fiasco make her husband's situation worse? Whose gonna wanna hire him when they find out his wife sent death threats to his previous employer?

Nice going there lady.
