advise de parties? Kagu, Besi, Otu Obo, Hani are all Ugandans. Kagu is an employer in Uga and Co Ltd, a company limited by shares along Nasser Road. Besi is running a money lending business in a company called Agaba and Co located along Namirembe Road Kampala. Otu and Hani are employees in Uga and Co where Kagu is managing Director.
On 20th August 2009, Davis, one of the employees in Uga and Co forgot his medical documents on the table of the reception where upon, Kamwa picked them and found there and words “HIV” positive and the next morning on report to work, all the fellow employees avoided him and in the evening, Kagu wrote a letter to him with words ”No more job for you here.” in the same development, Hani, after hearing the ordeal, left that job and went to Asaba Co for another job where he found Mr. Kasolo the MD who upon seeing Ms Hani promised her an extra weekly payment if she can manage to let be sweet mutima every Thursday which despite the objection, the MD told her that “unless she does not want the job….!” And as a result of the above, considering the fact that Hani had left Uga and Co, yet work hard to be done efficiently and the fact that it was a holiday, Mr. Kagu appointed Oba his beloved daughter to help in the lifting of Engines he imports from UK on the premise that, she shall not eat free food and that he sponsors her at school, that being 10 years she is mature enough, lest, no further studies for her!
In the same development Mr. Fire the assistant MD, recently put a Notice at the entrance of the co. that “if an employee leaves work for any day, he shall not be allowed to report back for work”.
Recently, Ms Fire, upon giving notice following her successful delivery of Mzungu (a baby), on return to work and before she entered, Mr. Fire handed to her a letter with words “Go and hung yourself on a tomato tree branch, no more work for you. Didn’t you read the Notice?” Ms. Fire just went away crying to her home. Besides the above, upon chasing a way Ms. Fire, all the remaining employees went to court upon not being given work due to the serious floods which hit Soroti recently as the co was getting maize for the factory from there and as a result they stopped working.
Following the above incident, Kani a daughter of Buge Wili of the born again church, came tothe MD of Uga and Co. and told him that “Otu did bad things her and upon investigations, it was found that the allegations of Kani were right. The following day, Otu was chassed away from work but instead went to police upon his dissatisfaction by what the labour officer decide.”
Recently, Mr. Besi upon being denied a certificate to carry out his business of money lending, invited the intervention of the Attorney General to assist him achieve the same.
