One of my all time favourite films with more quotable lines than you can shake a stick at.

It's common courtesy to 'drink with withnail' during this film, but I havent got the wallet so I'll have to drink at my own pace

Love it, one of my favourites too. I just recently bought the 3 disc dvd, a steal on amazon for 7 quid.

And i'd probably get about 30 minutes into the film doing that drinking game before dying.

Absolutely love this film, but blimey, if you tried to keep pace with Withnail substance for substance, you'd be in a very bad way ... 'I demand to have some booze!'

What is that he drinks that is meant to be worse than meths?
Was it lighter fluid?

Yeah, it's lighter fluid. I read that the director used vinegar in that scene but didn't tell Richard E Grant. It's quite funny watching him grimace, trying not to smile after he drinks it.

Yeah, in his With Nails diaries he said it was neat vinegar - I don't think he's laughing though, he said that it actually made him vomit, so I think he's trying to hold it back till he finishes the scene
