Withnail & I Appreciation: "We've gone on holiday by mistake!"

I can definitely vouch for a second viewing. It took me a good few watches to really get into it :nod:

It's not your conventional sort of film so I can understand what you mean about it's pace being a bit slow but it's got to the point now where I just love each individual scene so much I don't mind the fact that not much seems to happen for a very long time :lmao:

I've only seen this movie once, so I don't really remember much of the lines, except this one :lmao: It cracked me up so much the first time I heard it, brilliant!

I quite enjoyed Withnail when I first watched it, the one-liners and dialogue are just brilliant, but I thought in general that the pace was a bit too slow-moving for my liking, so I got bored sometimes. But overall, the humour made up for it. I need to rewatch it at some point.
 
I've been doing that for far too long now :D I discovered about 3 years ago that my best friend, I mean someone I've know for about 10 years, it's one of her favourite films too! I don't know how we neglected to mention that to each other before :lol:

Anytime I watch the film now I always annoy Mr Sylv a bit because I pretty much quote the whole thing along with them. I just can't help it :)
 
Haha. It's such a quotable film. I should definitely start throwing some phrases into my everyday conversation.
 
"I much prefer a carrot to a geranium" or something like that.

Dear god, I shouldn't have started myself on this, I'll be here forever :lol:
 
I also love some of Monty's quotes - the one about the carrot and weeping in butcher's shops :lmao:
