Within US small businesses', what methods of payments are used and accepted?

Payment methods vary greatly among countries, I know. I'm looking at just US businesses and trying to determine if checks still rule or are credit cards taking over? What about pay pal?

Would like:

Checks XX%
Credit Cards XX%
Pay Pal XX%

Opinions are great, but would like a reference to something.
