Up until 9/16/2010 I was on Oxycontin. I had tapered my own dose which at it's max was 160/day (2 80mg.) I hurt more every day and wouldnt take more because it didn't help the pain. A friend told me after a certain amount of time the drug actually intensifies the pain! Didn't need that... I was put on them in 1995 when they first came out and up to the above date took at least 40-60mgs./day. I just wanted to stop! I've never taken more than prescribed nor do I buy them so I don't exhibit "drug seeking habits" does that make me less addicted or keep me from going through withdrawal, nope! I had a physician prescribe Clonodine, Lomotile & Vistril for me to help with WD. I took about 4 days of 20mg/day then stopped, started taking the Clonodine etc. The Clonodine which is actually to lower your blood pressure made me feel horrible! (if mine got much lower 80/60, I might be dead) For 2 days I tried taking the corabo she gave me & didn't know if I was feeling WD or bad from the corabo so I stopped taking anything. After 15 yrs. Of taking it everyday I've had 2 calm days. Today my body felt like it was going nurab, my head is screaming and I generally want to get away from me! Finally my wife suggested I take 1/4 generic Percocet it was so bad. I really can't say if it helped but can anyone tell me after 7 days if it will just make tomorrow worse? I will NOT take Oxycontin nor more than the 1/4 tab I took today, but how long if at all will this prolong the terrible way I feel? Oh BTW, my pain is 90% less off the Oxycontin so maybe they do contribute to pain. My main concern is how weak I am, how bad I feel & my lack of desire to do anything because I feel like....any help would be appreciated, thank you.
