With the SPIP CMS how can I add custom PHP if statements

I ask because it is mostly in french and i have been working on this site for a client all week and i am not making any progress.

All im needing to do is add a password protection too a article. so only people that know the password can view the page. Also need to add the admin page to allow the client to change the password at will.

Please help
