...that have on Ford? To my knowledge, as of today, Ford still has not accepted government financial help and refuses to do so...question is, IF GM and Chrysler go under even partly, i can't see it doing anything but helping Ford get back their market share, any thoughts?

Luckily for Ford, they are making some major innovations due to the economy downfall, Chrysler is also doing the same. GM just fired their CEO after 32 years of working for GM. They fired him because he was making no real efforts towards the future. It's too soon to know whether or not GM will make it through, however I am willing to put my money down that Chrysler and Ford will make it through. The major effects that this is doing to Ford is really actually making it a stronger company because drivers are finding the reliability that Ford has to offer. That's why Ford isn't quite in the same boat. If you ever drive down the road the majority of old trucks are F-150's and F-250's. Those trucks built this nation with horrible gas mileage and some good old american muscle. At this point Ford is putting back to the gas mileage. Ford's Power Stroke V8 7.3 Liter Diesel has as good or better fuel mileage than the Dodge Cummins 5.9 Liter Straight 6 motors and is pushing more horsepower and torque while both are stock. You can get a whole crap load of a lot more power and speed and fuel mileage if you are willing to buy they Banks Powerpack system for that Ford, Dodge as well will benefit, but Ford does beat all. And America is finally figuring that out. Also Dodge's Diesel automatic transmissions are in the junkyard. Flat out absolutely suck. Ford however has made the perfect transmissions for their diesel's, manual and automatic. Ford will pull through this depression and show us the future. GM and Dodge may or may not make it. Depends on how well they get their act together.
