attack plans on Iran? The west wanted A-JAD to win as did Israel so they could move forward without more talk about not bombing Iran's nuc sites so does the election result mean attack is imminent?
and if so would that not be a good time for Irans youth to take action ?
maddy Iranians need to do more than protest and quickly, I hope A-JAD is not representing them as he is MAD and insane...dn

I don't think it matters much who is the President of Iran. The fact is that the Ayatollah runs the show and A-jad is just a figurehead.

Israel is a modern nation. Having had two parents in government, I have a slightly better idea of how government works.

All modern governments have multiple plans of attack, even for nations they are allied with. That's just wise, as you never know what the future will bring. That's why the whole "USA had a plan for attacking Iraq before the war!" argument was utterly silly. They depended on the public's ignorance to raise outrage about it, when in truth, we have plans on how to attack Canada, Israel, England, and they have plans on how to attack us, and are wise for it.

Israel's reasons for doing things are multi-point, based on many causes and desired results, not just one or two. The simplistic arguments for why any government does things that you see on Yahoo! Answers is utterly silly, like a person arguing the rules of checkers when the real game being played is chess.

It will not speed things up. That's is not how governments work. They do not speed to things unless they are dictatorships, like N. Korea.

What action can those of us who are a part of the 'Iranian youth' who do not live in Iran right now partake in? It frustrates me greatly.

I don't think it will speed up Israel's attack plans on Iran nor do I think an attack is imminent. Not yet, anyway. Iran can look after themselves much better than people think in the event of an attack. Although of course I am hoping there won't be an attack in which to deal with.

And there was a sit in vigil comprised mainly of Iran's youth in Iran today but the government send the police out with batons and kicked them all out. I am also sure there will have been protests in other parts of the country.

I despise this feeling of helplessness that I have right now regarding the future of one of my country's [I am British + Iranian by blood] because I KNOW it has the potential to become a great nation and Khameini is messing everything up!

The imperialist war drive, an expression itself of the unresolved and sharpening contradictions of the system in the post-Cold War period, produced new impasses. The "war on terror" terrorist Crusade launched by the Bush Administration led to the swamp in Iraq and to a dead end in Afghanistan that destabilized completely Pakistan and the entire Indian sub-continent. The US war strategy under the Obama Administration shifts its focus to Central Asia not solely by a surge of US and NATO troops but also by building new diplomatic bridges and uplifting a strong network of alliances, which encompasses Turkey, Russia, and Iran.

The new US strategic shift finds acute problems with the emergence of the most extreme right wing, racist, obscurantist Zionist government in Israel, in February 2009, three years after the defeat of the Zionist Army in Lebanon in 2006 and in the aftermath the genocidal massacre of the Palestinian civilians in Gaza at the end of December 2008-early January 2009. The election of an extreme reactionary Zionist coalition government is an expression of the crisis and impasses of the Zionist and imperialist colonial project itself. Together with it, the so-called "two states solution" of a Palestinian statelet of impotent Bantustans surrounded by the Zionist settlers and Army has been buried.
