With the DVD is there any point to watching "Family Guy" tonight?

Greetings the rabroadrs. I realize I am not on this board a lot, but I have a question that you all are best equipped to answer. As I imagine a great many of you know, "Something, Something, Something Dark Side" is airing on FOX tonight as the season finale of Family Guy.

As an owner (but not viewer, so no spoilers please) of the DVD, I'm just wondering if there is anything going on tonight that would make watching the episode on television worth it. I haven't heard/seen anything, but figure you folks are the people to ask.

Thank you kindly.

The TV airing is going to be cut to ribbons compared to the much longer DVD/Blue-ray. I really don't have much incentive to watch it so I probably won't.

Well, I guess if you don't have the DVD (like I don't) then it would be worth it. But the only other reason I can think of is if you want to watch the commercials for some odd reason. And I'll be watching Lost, so I won't see it anyway.

So how come you have the DVD, but haven't watched it yet?

As someone who hasn't picked up the blu-ray yet, I'll be watching it tonight. People who don't have it most likely will watch it tonight (or hulu later in the week) and people who do have it most likely won't watch it unless they want to see what was cut.

Does this mean, there won't be a 'talkback' thread for this one? I don't have the DVD, so I'll probably be watching. Plus I hear that the animated Cookie Monster from a previous FG ep will make an appearance. That is something I'd like to see.

I'm gonna watch it tonight (if I remember ) since I don't have the DVD. I live under a rock and miss out on many things.

You honestly think it will go up on Hulu?

Anyway, I'd say to the TC: Watch it through DVD. There are no commercials. I'm not aware of what level that Fox edits Family Guy to air it, but I'd imagine it's at least a little bit. Better to watch it on DVD either way.

I think any big fan of Family Guy will have the DVD (I even have it). More causal fans will watch it tonight. But those big fans might as well just to pass the time on TV.

It's not really on purpose, I just haven't gotten around to watching it (been busy trying to catch up on Lost actually :p ). I think I'll finally get to it in the next week or two.

It you're gonna watch it tonight, and you own the dvd. Don't even bother watching the version that Fox is going to air. I'd just go ahead and throw in the dvd. I mean for (1) Why watch the commercials when you don't have to? Is there anyone who really enjoys watching commercials during their programs? And (2) I think there's probably a 100% chance that the version that airs on tv will be censored and edited. So this is pretty much a no brainer.

I rented the DVD a while ago and loved it, but I still intend watch it tonight again because I enjoyed it. I couldn't care less if some parts are edited.

Besides, I never got into Lost, anyway. :p

It's background for my internet surfing right now. Never got into LOST.

I have to admit, as counter-programming to Lost/Celebrity Apprentice, it was a smart move. At least they can blame the sure-to-be atrocious ratings on the fact that nearly every fan already watched it half a year ago.
