With my Cricket Plan, can I use a different phone?

I have the 35$ everything cricket plan with a crappy phone. My friend gave me a blackberry to try and see if I could link it the the plan. Is this possible? I currently have the UT Starcom phone, and I want to be able to send/recieve multimedia.
