With most local newspapers gone or going, where will you get local news?

And how will we keep small city politicians honest? The local news on the internet is wholly inadequate .

nothing interesting happens locally. if it did, the local news wouldn't have the balls to cover it or it would be big enough for regional news on national news aggregates. ooh, Erma May won the local rhododendron growing contest; a cute little doggy was found by the firehouse; they're opening a new Dairy Queen; yay!

Where we are the local news is still here and is going no where. As for getting politicians to become honest, that wont be. We have better luck curing a debilitating disease. As for the news being inadequate, I compare 5 sources and see if what I hear compares to others.
