With exercise bike, how to start out?

Just got an exercise bike. I want to tone my legs, so I'm using the highest resistance. How often and for how long should I use the exercise bike daily/weekly to tone my legs but NOT lose weight or inches?

the highest resistance on an exercise bike will not facilitate your goals. use moderate resistance and exercise for at least 30 minutes a day in your target heart rate area. your target heart rate should be around 65-70% of your maximum heart rate which is 220-age.
 
well, i cant completely answer your question but if you go on the exercise bike for about 30 minutes at about 11 mph you can burn calories (about 50-100)

dont go very fast if you dont want to lose weight, the faster you go the more fat you are burning. go 3-4 times a week for 20-30 minutes
