Wireless B supposedly supports up to 11mbps (1.3MB/s)
Wireless G supposedly supports up to 54mbps (6.7MB/s)
My wireless ADSL2 connection was maxing out at 600KB/s on Wireless B.
I switched my modem setting to Wireless G and now I'm maxing out at 1.2MB/s.
My question is why on earth couldn't I get 1.2MB/s on Wireless B?? Or at least close to it? According to the wireless B specs, there's shouldn't be a problem! Instead I got HALF that speed.
Now, I don't know how fast my ADSL2 can potentially go, though I believe I'm fairly close to my exchange. If I go and switch to a Wireless N modem, will that potentially give me a speed boost?
Because 1.2MB/s is not very impressive considering.
The speed ratings on these wireless b/g specs seem to be vastly over-exaggerated!
