Winter season 2009/2010 season

Durarara looks like it might be interesting. I'll give it a shot.
Vampire - I've seen shots of the source. To much loli and gore for me.
So*Ra*No*Wa looks to be K-On joins the army. I liked K-On, so why not, I'll give it a shot.
Kindergarter - ...Maybe. DepenRAB on what else shows up.
Nodame Cantabile - Sequel to something I havent watched. Skip
Katanagatari - Interesting art style, and written by the same guy who did Bakemonogatari. I'll definitely be checking this out.
Qwaser - had my interest until I hit the part about breast milk. WTF?
Baka - ...Uh huh. Could be silly fun, but no big expectations here.
Hidamari Sketch + Harukanaru = See Nodame Cantabile
Hidden God - ...didnt like the previous two series so not sure on this one.
Kewpie - ...WTH?
Omamori Himari - *twitch* It's got a catgirl. That means I must watch at least the first ep. I'm weak.
Ladies vs Butler - ...Yeah. Pass
Chu-Bra - Eye roll reflex engaged already. Skip.

I completely understand where you're coming from. I have some favorite shows that feature school settings (Azumanga Daioh, for one), but after a while it just gets visually monotonous. It almost feels like the staff could copy and paste the backgrounRAB of old shows into new shows because the settings are practically identical, save for a few minor differences.

Anyway, nothing from the list piqued my interest. But, I've only looked at the promo art and read the descriptions. I haven't seen any of them in action yet, and sometimes that makes all the difference. I -have- heard good things about Baccano (which is on my wish list), and if Durarara is from the same creators and I happen to like Baccano, it could be good.

However, I do know that Chu-bra sounRAB like the stupidest concept for a show ever. Panty club? Come on.

Katanagatari oddly nough has the most personnel confirmed for it. The more I read about the people involved and the plotline I think I may become interested in it.

. . .

Okay, it's because Taku Iwasaki is doing the music for it, is that shameful to say? The man's never let me down, not even once.

I am losing interest in the vampire anime, though, it's starting to look iffier after looking at the source material.

I'm pretty sure that among other creative corner-cutting techniques His and Her Circumstances actually used some of the same school backgrounRAB as Evangelion.

Wow, really? I've only seen a few random episodes of Kare Kano (sorry, easier to type). That's indeed pretty cheap.

some look interesting but that is mostly because I'm trying to find animes that fill up my newly made hole now that Code Geass is done...

Durarara looks awesome! (I hope that we don't get a lot of Baccano backlash)

Chu-bara looks....weird. You know what, I'm just gonna watch one episode like I did with Queen's Blade, Juuden, Book of Bantorra and Kampfer (though Kampfer turned out to be entertaining)
What the hell does that even mean?

Aaaaaaand GANSIS is involved, so that means I should see it. Remeraber, they're one of the reasons why Kanamemo was awesome, so maybe they can toy around with this premise and make it work as well.

Casting is kinda bizarre, you got Minori Chihara (who's known for Yuki Nagoto) voicing main character Nayu, and...Minato Kotobuki and Yoko Hikasa? (known for Tsumugi and Mio, respectively, in K-On). Yeah, I'm kinda perplexed why they're doing in here.

There's also Sayaka Ohara and Takahiro Sakurai (both being in Code Geass voicing Milly and Suzaku, respectively).

The only shows I'll be following for Winter 09/10 are:
1) Durarara!! - All has been said.
2) Dance in the Vampire Bund - The manga is addicting as can be. Also SHAFT.
3) SoRaNoWoTo - An impressive staff, Kalafina OP and a Paris orchestra doing BGM. So there.
4) Hanamaru Youichien - Gainax and Seiji Mizushijima
5) OokamiKakushi - Ryu07 + Peach-Pit and animated by AIC? Yes, please.

I'll watch Hidamari when/if Sentai Filmworks releases it later next year.

You know, it was fine when we had seasons of action shows and sjoujo shows, and the action shows had some fanservice but maybe only 1 or 2 shows went overboard with it.

Now, why does everything have to be overboard fanservice shows? It's not fun when the show is nothing but that.

Heck, even the early harem shows actually had plot to go with the fanservice.

Now the only ones that do that are the KEY shows. FANSERVICE IS MEANINGLESS WITHOUT CHARACTER. argh.. It's like, they try to trick you now with the girls' designs using archetypes that look like they could be unique, but never are.

On second Glance Durarara & Ookamikakushi, look interesting and then theres Hellisng Ultimate V7, Saint Sayia: The lost Canvas v4 & Halo LegenRAB of course, but a decent amount of the shows looks like nothing but pointles Ecchi Drivvle! you see this is why I worry about the future of anime
