Windshield brands?

I've almost deciced on the Hell Cat from Memphis Shades. It has pretty good coverage, but is not to big for the bike. I think it will look good, it seems to fit the lines of the bike.

A picture of my s50 with Memphis shades windshield. The thing I like about Memphis shades is the mounting system. It is very solid, no vibration or shaking at any speed and I can take it off in less than 5 minutes if I want to ride with out it. The picture is from last year.

The second one is me with my new license plate I bought myself for Christmas

I don't remember the model number of the windshield but the small size fits the charactor of the s50. This is my first effort at uploading photo's, hope it works.

I have never ridden with another type of windshield to compare it against but it works very well compared to no windshield at all. It keeps the wind and bugs off the chest and if you set it up right you will feel very little buffeting.

I ordered the Hell Cat from Memphis Shades today. With any luck it will be at the local bike shop by Friday. I was wondering though, what exactly is meant by " buffeting"? Is that the same as turbulent air, or vibration in the windshield from the air?

Yeah, the air turbulence from the shield shakes your head. I had the shield mounted upright and I had some severe buffeting. So I angled it way back and I actually thought it would be worse since it seemed like the wind was going to be directed right at my head, but it turned out to work the best.

I have the OEM windshield on my M50 Limited Edition. I was getting a fair amount of helmet buffeting and did some additional research learning that a set of lowers can really help cut down on helmet buffeting. On the surface you might wonder how some small wind screens mounted below your windshield on your forks can help eliminate helmet buffeting? Apparently, the wind passes under the windshield and is deflected up off the gas tank and from there it impacts your head and helmet.

I picked up a set of lowers with brackets from Memphis Shades and have been very pleased with their performance. You can see from the attached photos what they look like on an M50. I got clear ones, but they come in about eight colors I believe.

I got the Hell Cat installed. I am very pleased with the appearance, I have not had the chance to test it on the road yet. Thanks to all for the information, it was good to have while deciding which windshield to purchase. I'm not sure if I mounted it the correct way, but it seems solid. If anyone has pics of their S50 with the handlebar mounts please post them. I would like to know if there is a better way to mount the Hell Cat.

Hope it works out for you!

I have the OEM shield and the buffeting is pretty bad - it is coming from under the shield - if I put my arm across my body to block the wind from underneath, the buffeting stops.

I had to completely change the mounting configuration I was using. I had the windshield angled back way to far. Once I moved it to a more vertical position, the turbulence stopped all together. Thanks for all the assistance and pics.
