Windows media player sounds like crap?

Try reinstalling the audio drivers. Check windows update and see if anything is available. Go to the mfg site and check there. Try uninstalling then reboot. Should reinstall current drivers. See if that helps. Try other audio players like winamp and see if you get same results.
 
im listening to music through Windows media player but the sound is real crappy and i used to use iTunes but thats not working anymore. iTunes sounded crystal clear now its really poopy. most of the files are mp3 but they all sound terrible and the equalizer is at flat and none of the presets are good
 
Things don't just go poopy....just download the latest version of iTunes and reinstall it.
If that doesn't work, your speakers/sound card has kicked the bucket.
