Windows Media Player problem -?

when i play saved music, from my hard drive, or straight from a cd the sound seems to 'swim' in and out of quality. ive got win-amp too but the sound seems flat. what is the problem? how do i fix it?
 
no point in trying any other media player as it looks like your sound card is on the way out ,sorry,if you know the type you could always try updating the drivers but I have my doubts it will help ,sorry again
 
did you do the up dates on it? If not time to call in the geek squad or computer repair person
 
your setting are fucked up u should try taking you sound and just usin your narmal sound no other program u dont know how to use
