Windows Media Center keeps changing from 32-bit color to 16-bit?

every time i am watching a DVD in my laptop and i make the program full screen, the color thing changes from 32-bit to 16-bit. When i go to change it to 32-bit again, it shows in the window that it already IS at 32-bit color. What's going on? Why is it doing this only when i make the program into full screen?
