Windows Live Messenger Group Chat Offline?

I just created a group and invited a few members in, apparently they can chat with each other on the group chat, i can see them chat too, but the group appears to be offline to me and only me. help please, i tried relogging and restarting the windows live messenger but it doesnt work, the group says : xxxx is currently offline, you can send a message when more group members are online, but in fact i can see my group members chatting in it
